Junior Recording 


We are so excited to announce the launch of our second Junior Recording Artist Program! On January 12th 2020, we will be holding auditions for our JUNIOR RECORDING ARTIST program. 12-15 lucky SONG SPOT students between the ages of 9 to 18 will be selected to arrange and record a song of their choice!  The program will run from January to May 2020.

This program consists of:

1) Weekly vocal master class/rehearsal time with our teachers and a few guest artists to arrange and prepare songs for recording! 

2) 60 minutes of recording time in a recording studio for each student at Noble Street Studios! Noble Street Studios is known for recording artists such as Ed Sheeran, Jessie Reyez, Shawn Mendes, Alessia Cara, Drake, Justin Bieber, The Tragically Hip and many more! 
















3) Rehearsal time with an acoustic guitar player, pianist and or band depending on song choice. 

4) Participation in THE SONG SPOT ROCKS Concert at a music venue in Durham in May 2019.

5) Their song uploaded to Itunes & Spotify

Tuition for this program is $550.00. 

Classes will begin second week of January. Classes will be on Wednesdays from 5pm to 6pm. Recording will be completed in March (date TBA) and the concert in May (date TBA).

Snow Days - In the event of inclement weather The Song Spot presents the following policy. If the Durham District School Board or Durham Catholic District School Board buses are cancelled students are welcome to email into the lesson department no later than 12 noon that day to cancel their lesson and avoid a charge; requests for cancellations after this time will not be allowed without charge. 


The Song Spot does not offer compensatory lessons or classes for absences and/or missed lessons that occur because students have conflicts, travel out of town, etc. or due to illness. This is in respect for our faculty members, who set aside a specific time for each student. This time is reserved. The teacher cannot give the time away to someone else or fill it again – thus s/he does not have the opportunity to make up the lost income. Though many students and families are consistent and reliable about attendance, some are not; this policy is a way to support our talented faculty.


24 hours notice via email is necessary to receive no charge for a private lesson. If your child is ill in the morning before their lesson please email before noon. Same day late cancellations and  no shows will be charged a full lesson fee.
